Come September

Carrie Bradshaw, star of the series most loved by singles around the world, liked to garnish her articles with declarations of love to her beloved New York, giving it a soul, a character. In fact, how to blame her?!
Hong Kong is undoubtedly different from New York, but even here there are days when you feel the arrival of autumn. We talk about those strangely dry days, when a bit of wind passes over your head and the mist, like a semi-transparent veil, does not allow you to see beyond the harbour. Yet only a few days earlier it still seemed the hot and humid summer that leaves no breath.
In Italy, just like in New York, it is the period in which we begin to feel the need for a light blanket on our bed, when we start switching the clothes in the wardrobe and many people begin, very early, to think about Christmas.

It is strange how in Europe, for better or worse, our lives revolve around waiting for a holiday or festivity. First there is Easter, then summer holidays and, immediately after, the mind is already thinking about Christmas, gifts, how and where (but especially with whom) to spend the New Year's Eve. On reflection, moving east a few thousand kilometres, things are very different. Christmas comes without that pathos, that need Italian mums have to organize a gargantuan menu, an impeccable table and a home that can accommodate the whole family.

In Italy there is usually the custom of booking Christmas-themed restaurants as early as September to "greet" friends and wish them Merry Christmas ... and meet them again a couple of days later with a couple of extra pounds! Every occasion is good for going out for dinner, eating, getting gifts.
September, therefore, slyly, marks the beginning of the period in which we await Christmas, in which the leaves turn yellow and fall, creating real carpets of a yellow and brown shade that colour the green lungs of the big cities.

But how do we live this period in Hong Kong? Mid-Autumn Festival is usually celebrated in September. Last year, in fact, we told you the story of Chang'e and Hou Yi [Mooncakes and lanters - Tablo Store], romantic heroes who inspired this holiday. This year we will leave romance aside trying to be as concrete as possible and we will talk about the willingness to start from September, with a series of events and fairs with which we would like to launch some new brands and products in our portfolio.

The most important event of the season will be the To The Table Forum which will be held in Bangkok from 4 to 6 October at the Shangri-La hotel. Our whole Sales Team, after several years of inactivity due to restrictions, will finally be able to fly to Thailand.

We have very positive thoughts about this Forum; in fact, we have prepared a series of table settings with different styles to be shown to customers in the hospitality sector. On this occasion, we decided to establish the Fuori-Forum by mocking the Milanese Design Week's Fuorisalone. During the Fair, therefore, we will keep you company with some live videos from Shangri-La and with amazing evening advice on clubs and restaurants in Bangkok. Fasten your seat belts, we will make you travel... without quarantine!!

October is also the month when Tablo will launch a brand-new line of cookware designed by Tablo and Made by Pinti. Always design and detail oriented, we have decided to be the house of the Italian lifestyle, increasingly seeking to enter homes with our strong identity.
And here, slowly, we get close to 11/11 (Single's Day), Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday and, very slowly, Christmas, the most important period of the year that leads to the Chinese New Year, January 22nd.
Well, while nature turns itself into fall, we dress up with colours, ideas and projects. And you?
