A New Vintage Story: Why Tablo Chose a Carosello-Inspired Style
Vintage is no longer simply a look from the past. It has become a language of taste, emotion and identity.
In fashion, archival pieces and retro silhouettes are increasingly seen as desirable, personal and sophisticated. Vogue has described vintage fashion as a trend that is still growing, with more attention moving toward unique, under-the-radar pieces that feel personal rather than mass-produced.
The same spirit is now influencing interiors, table settings, hospitality and lifestyle: people are looking for objects with character, details that tell a story, and atmospheres that feel warm, curated and authentic.

At the table, this trend is especially visible. Perfectly coordinated minimalism is giving way to more expressive compositions: decorated plates, coloured glassware, embroidered linens, family-style serving pieces, nostalgic patterns and unexpected combinations. A beautiful table today is not only elegant; it is memorable. It mixes eras, textures and moods. It feels lived-in, human and full of personality.

This is exactly why we decided to give our new Tablo newsletter banner a vintage Carosello style.
Carosello was one of the most iconic television programmes in Italian cultural history. Broadcast by RAI from 1957 to 1977, it introduced advertising into Italian homes in a completely original way: not as simple commercials, but as short stories, sketches, animations and mini-shows. Rai Cultura recalls that Carosello aired every evening at 20:50 and was initially a 10-minute programme made of short films created for brands.

Rai Teche describes it as a programme that accompanied the evolution of the country for 20 years through more than 7,000 advertising episodes.
