Tablo enters its 8th year, the luckiest number!

But why number 8 is considered to be the lucky number?

In Chinese culture, this belief is deeply rooted in linguistic and cultural factors:

  1. Pronunciation: The number 8 is pronounced as “ba” in Mandarin, which sounds like the word for wealth or prosperity, “发” (fa). This phonetic similarity has led to the strong association of 8 with financial success and good fortune.
  2. Cultural Symbolism: The belief in the luckiness of 8 is also tied to historical and cultural significance. In ancient China, the number 8 was associated with the Emperor and the ruling class, making it a symbol of power and authority.
  3. Balance and Harmony: In terms of its shape, the number 8 is balanced and symmetrical, representing harmony and balance. This association extends to the idea of a balanced and prosperous life.


8 is often considered an auspicious number for important life events such as weddings, business launches, and property purchases. Many people go to long queue to incorporate the number 8 into their lives choosing phone numbers, license plates, and addresses that contain as many 8s as possible.

Therefore, let the number 8 be a good omen for us as we are about to enter the eighth anniversary of our company, founded in July 2017.

We have come a long way, starting with just two people and very few brands represented, and arriving at a team spread across the globe which includes 12 world-famous brands to which the historic Alessi has recently been added.


The acquisition of Alessi, a world-famous brand exhibited at the MoMa in New York and which boasts collaborations with the most important designers such as Philippe Starck, Toyo Ito, Achille Castiglioni and others, is perhaps the culmination of our incessant research work, attention to details, desire to improve day by day, even facing the obstacles that every business encounters on its path.

We must not forget that Covid and its restrictions, its imposed closures, have done nothing but test us, leading us to measure ourselves with online shop and increasingly improving our communication, our graphics, and social channels. The store adventure, although it ended after many difficulties, made us understand that we never stop learning; indeed, every experience teaches us to move forward with our heads held high and to have the desire to start new projects.



Today, under the auspiciousness of the number 8 which, turned 90 degrees, reminds us of the symbol of infinity, we are about to embark on a new phase of our business: to improve the development of Thailand, Japan and Chinese markets and the intention to be able to cover, with the introduction of new brands and products, the needs of each type of table.

As any challenge, we start with the enthusiasm and energy to perform at our best and make each brand in our portfolio proud to be present in the Region.
